Prince Maurice Hotel Mauritius
The Prince Maurice hotel has an area of 60 hectares. In this area, there is clear land and rare and luxuriant vegetation. There exists an isolated peninsula encompassed by white sand beaches and a quiet lagoon. Guests are overwhelmed by the unique combination of spicy odor mixed with the warmth of the ocean. The hotel is named after Prince Maurice of Orange and Nassau. He pioneered the discovery of spices in the Indian Ocean. The splendor of spice trade is evoked by this hotel. So, “nutmeg”, which symbolizes the spices, is the logo of this hotel.
The Prince Maurice hotel is situated 35 km away from the capital, Port Louis. The distance from the airport is 45 km. There are 76 junior suites of area 70sq.m. These are in buildings of maximum 8 suites with thatched roofs, 10 ground floor/beach front facing. Eight are on stilts on a natural fish reserve. The suites have one bedroom with a sitting area and a terrace or balcony. There exists one bathroom with double vanities and separate shower, W.C and bath. Junior suites have connecting corridors as well. There are 12 senior suites having an area of 130sq.m and princely suites having an area of 350sq.m.
Hotel Prince Maurice serves a wide range of Mauritian-influenced dishes along with international cuisines. The hotel has a particular dress code. For breakfast and lunch, smart casuals are the recommended code. Men are not permitted to wear sleeveless T-shirts and women are not allowed to come in bikinis. During the evenings at the bars or restaurants after 6:30 pm, jacket and tie are not advisable. Likewise, T-shirts, shorts, Bermudas, slippers or sandals are also not permitted. The “Laguna beach” overlooks the pool and the beach. Unique cocktails can be enjoyed along with the sound of a sitar.
Services
The hotel has a mini club called “Les Petits Princes.” This has a game room, dining area and a private pool. Children aged four to twelve are permitted everyday from 9 hrs to 21 hrs. There are regular indoor and outdoor activities held here under supervision. If requested, children’s menus are also given. There are babysitting facilities without any extra cost.
Golf
The Legend Golf course is created at Belle Mare Plage. Guests can stay at Prince Maurice Hotel and play golf for free. The course is just a 5 minute drive from the hotel. Free shuttle is provided by the hotel on a daily basis.
