Climate of Mauritius
Mauritius is indeed the most spectacular and interesting island in the whole world. It is a tropical paradise which is situated east of the coast of Madagascar in Indian Ocean. Due to this exclusive geographical location Mauritius bears a serene and relatively pleasing climatic condition all through out the year. Mauritius has a mesmerizing combination of microclimates, all of them rather serene. The tropical climate that is the summer season starts from the month of October till the May and during these months the climatic conditions are hot and humid. The temperatures are almost 27 degrees Celsius at the coastline and about 5 degrees less internal; however they do rise up to the level of 35 degree Celsius. This is also the season of rain and cyclones.
Although no need to worry about cyclones as these tropical cyclones pass near to the island only about four days in a year. During the months of January to March this island experiences heavy rainfall. The sub-tropical climate which is the winter season falls in the months of June to September. Obliviously this is the best time for all the tourists to visit this island as the temperatures are almost cool, dry and warm. The temperatures during this time vary between 13 degrees to 19 degree Celsius. During the nights the temperature some times drops up to 16 and 18 degree Celsius at the coastline.
If someone wants to visit Mauritius then is depends on why he or she wants to visit the island. Apart from peak cyclone season during the months of January and February, December to March are the best months for diving. During these months the waters remain very clear and provide an ideal situation for diving. The months of June to August are best for surfing while the months from October to April are exceptional for fishing.
The slightest enjoyable period is during the months of December to April as the days are too long and also prove to be very hot and humid. If anyone has to visit Mauritius in the warmer season and probably do not enjoy hot and humid climate then it is always better to avoid the clear beaches. When the coastline climate goes up to 30 degree Celsius, the climate in the town usually remains cool. For instance, Curepipe which is located on the central plateau is one of the higher sections of Mauritius. The temperature significantly varies between this coastal resort and the town. It is apparently more enjoyable down the coastline where one can constantly prefer an air conditioned room. It is always better to stay away from the beaches during the midday and also not to risk out on several long romantic walks down the sandy beaches of Mauritius by sunset.
Since, there are no severe climatic conditions apart from the rare cyclones one can visit the island pretty much anytime. This countries climate is indeed drawing a growing number of visitors consequently placing Mauritius as the world’s best vacation destinations.
